Ever wondered what it’s like to swim among nurse sharks??

Check out this video from our Editor and Belize Photographer Demian Solano on a recent visit to Shark Ray Alley near Ambergris Caye!

Nurse sharks are nocturnal animals, spending the day in large inactive groups of up to 40 individuals.  At Shark Ray Alley however, tour boat guides throw bait from the boat to attract them for tourists. The result is this impressive mob you see in the video.  Not so sure we agree with the practice, but it certainly is a thrilling experience for visitors.  By night, the sharks are largely solitary; they spend most of their time rifling through the bottom sediments in search of food.
